A bird? A fox? A shooting star? What is that supposed to be anyway? Better shoot it quickly. And then forget everything in the intoxication of the strange juice that drips viscously from the ceiling. In "Abschuss", author Özlem Özgül Dündar invents a world of contradictions: extreme physical states full of longing, excess and loneliness consume her characters. The boundary between human and human - or what is left of human - is insurmountable. Language and body obsessively revolve around the fear of being alone and remaining alone. Words search for connection, relentlessly rubbing themselves into bodies. But beyond language, a concrete-hard world awaits beneath the missile defence system, where survival means pulling the trigger faster than the unknown thing out there that could attack at any time.
